Bhagavad Gita · 2.17 · Transcendental Knowledge·17 of 72

अविनाशि तु तद्विद्धि येन सर्वमिदं ततम्।विनाशमव्ययस्यास्य न कश्चित् कर्तुमर्हति ॥

avināśhi tu tadviddhi yena sarvam idaṁ tatam

vināśham avyayasyāsya na kaśhchit kartum arhati

Sanskrit recitation

You are more than this body · 2.11–2.30 · Teaching

Translation

Know that to be indestructible, by which all this is pervaded. No one can cause the destruction of that, the Imperishable.

Meaning

That which pervades this entire universe is imperishable. No one can destroy the eternal Self. Bodies perish, but the indwelling Reality does not. Knowing this, grief over what seems lost loses its force.
